Oil-phobia

The world is moving in fast forward, in the blink of an eye the 2nd day of Ramadhan is over, or it sure feels like that for me. I am still having trouble with this Maintenance phase although I am not fasting yet. I hardly ate anything during the day, an apple and lots of green tea but skipping my protein altogether. God forbids I don’t become an anorexic because of this.

Currently I have a phobia of eating anything with visible oil on it, even my mini vege-spring rolls which I made today ( carrot, cucumber, turnips and chicken) were drizzled with a little olive oil and chucked into the oven to make it crispy. I had a few during iftar while sitting with the family. Guess what? It tasted good that way! Although I know the skin/wrap is made of flour, but I can’t help myself. I consoled myself that the vegetables in it will make up for it. My main course for dinner was baked cencaru with lemon and birds eye chilli. Yummy!

My period is making my weight yoyo-ing this couple of days. This morning I weighed myself before sitting with my husband for his sahur and I went down 200g and later when I measured I lost another inch from my waist, which is indeed great! I don’t have high hopes for tomorrow though as the spring rolls would be sure to punish me. I need to be more disciplined in this phase if I want my metabolism to reset good. God help me!!

I am still thinking what to cook for sahur when hubby requested anchovies cooked in chilli and petai! Ooh La La! Another calorie laden dish there! Well, I can always have my spinach soup with shrimp, right? After all, I am so used to it, hehehe!

Happy sahur people, aim for healthy ones!

  2. I eat what I can except for sugar and starch. Don't worry too much about oil. I am still maintaining.
